Software System Engineer

We E-Lab (E2E Validation Lab) provides technical direction and leadership for Dell EMC, our Customers, and our Partners to ensure proven interoperability between Dell EMC and partner products through integration and qualification, creating customer consumable solutions that respond to their business challenges.

We are looking for a Software System Engineer to join our E-Lab team in Chengdu and play a key role in the evolution of Dell.

What you’ll achieve

As a Software System Engineer, you will be responsible for setting industry-leading reliability standards by conducting rigorous interoperability testing, certification and qualification of Dell EMC and third-party products including major platforms, operating systems and solutions. You will gain deep knowledge on various Dell EMC and third-party products and solutions while helping to maintain and grow Dell EMC’s offerings within evolving markets.

You will:

• Work with the team to implement/optimize testing plan to approve the interoperability between Dell EMC and 3rd party products (OS/Switch/Storage/Application/Solution etc.)
• Perform Qualification/Certification on VMware/Hyper-V/Xen/KVM virtual hypervisor and associated Cloud solutions in future.
• Work with the team to create automation scripts to run interoperability testing more efficiently
• Generate whitepaper and tech-book as required
• Performs other duties as required

Essential Requirements

• 1-3 years working expeirence after graduated from Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
• Good understanding/knowledge on at least one OS platform (Linux, Windows etc.) or virtualization platforms (KVM/XEN/LXC/VMWare).
• Good understanding/knowledge on protocols and troubleshooting e.g. TCP/IP, FC, iSCSI, FCoE, NAS/File etc.
• Proven scripting experience/knowledge e.g Perl, Python, Go, Ansible etc.
• Fast learner and problem-solving skills, proven ability to learn technologies quickly and solve problems

Desirable Requirements

• Knowledge on OpenStack, RHOSP, Docker, K8S or other Public/Private Cloud product/Solution is a plus.
• Knowledge on any areas like ML & AI, Edge computing, SD-WAN, NFV is a plus.
