The Learning Manager, Learning Content & Delivery is responsible for the creation, review, modification and delivery of moderate-to-complex learning solutions (e.g., e-learning, instructor-led courses, performance support tools, etc.) per business needs The Learning Manager, Learning Content & Delivery will analyze learning needs in collaboration with Leaning Partners and Change Managers, and design and/or develop learning based on input from subject matter experts and relevant stakeholders. S/he will create learning solutions in accordance to CDCS’ annual learning plan and in response to critical ad-hoc requests. Success in this role depends on a candidate’s knowledge of training needs analysis, course design methods and concepts, content development tools and deliverables, facilitation and ability to collaborate effectively with mid-to-high level divisional management, subject matter experts and stakeholders across CDCS.
Essential Job Duties:
Remain current on learning and development related tools, techniques, strategies and practices in order to provide relevant, informed consultative advice to the business; share leading learning practices with teams and stakeholders
Collaborate with, Learning Partners, Change Managers, Learning Specialists and mid-to-high level business unit management and Subject Matter Experts to conduct training needs analysis
Recommend the build/buy/borrow approach for learning solutions
Lead learning solution programs and/or projects of moderate-to-high complexity including creating and executing the course design and development schedule
Adhere to standards, guidelines, templates, and taxonomies as established by the Learning Operations & Solutions Strategy group
Manage outsourced design and development of courses / content by vendors, as applicable
Complete learning design activities:
Identify learning solution / strategies (e.g., self-study/, ILT, templates, assessment approach)
Create learning solution design document
Facilitate stakeholder reviews of learning design, including compliance / legal reviews as required
Coordinate with Learning Partners/Change Managers to review and receive approval on final learning solution design
Coordinate the gathering of content and subject matter knowledge from stakeholders and subject matter experts
Ensure learning measurement strategy is embedded into design of learning solutions per standards and/or guidance from the Learning Operations & Solutions Strategy group
Ensure the development of learning content, as outlined in the development plan, is leveraging design elements, needs analysis results, information from stakeholders/SMEs, adherence to all content classification standards, etc.
Facilitate e-learning development by managing:
Development of storyboards
Development of content / assets
Translations, if required
Localizations, if required
Content import
Publishing of course/content
Course/content review
Assessments, question banks, questions
Testing and fixing e-learning content, as appropriate
Facilitate instructor-led course development by managing development of:
Pre-work
Participant materials
Required handouts
Instructor / facilitator guides
Learning aids (e.g., posters)
Deliver training and/or support local SMEs providing training
Coordinate and manage content reviews and sign-offs with stakeholders
Partner with subject matter experts to design and facilitate Train-the-Trainer programs,
Coordinate with Learning Specialists, Learning Operations and/or Change Managers on planned delivery methods
Maintain / modify courses as needed
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify courses for retirement
Coordinate the retirement of courses in the LMS and/or Blackboard, as needed
Incorporate feedback from learning evaluations into future design and development activities
Identify and recommend potential development tools and updates
Manage pilots of new standards, processes and templates outlined by the Global Learning & Change Management
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree
Preferred: Degree or certification in instructional design, education, training, or related field of study
Required: Minimum 6 years of related experience, with minimum 3 years of experience designing and developing learning solutions (e.g., e-learning, instructor led courses, documents, exams, etc.); experience managing multiple learning solution projects and/or programs at once
Preferred: Knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation, and learner-centered activities; experience managing / liaising with outsourced vendors to develop and/or provide learning content; experience developing blended learning solutions for different learning modalities (e.g., e-learning, classroom training, virtual training, etc.); knowledge of mobile learning requirements; knowledge of social learning concepts and application; knowledge of e-learning standards and LMS courseware integration with AICC and SCORM; knowledge of emerging and progressive content development tools and techniques; familiarity with content authoring tools / development technologies (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate, HTML, etc.); knowledge or experience in creating reusable content / learning assets).
