职位描述

Reporting to: Hanovia Industry Manager of Greater China

Main purpose(s) of job: To maintain and further develop hanovia UV business in China Pharma market.

Key contacts: Internal – Sales and Marketing staff are in China, USA region and in Hanovia head office (UK)

External – Distributors, customers, Halma group companies, industry associations & consultants, Government bodies, etc.

Location: Based at Tianjin or Hebei, Home office. China and overseas travel may be required.

Working hours: Normal business hours plus other reasonable time as required to meet the job requirements. This job does not attract overtime payments.


Key responsibilities

Achievement of sales budget and any other agreed KPIs.

Annual and monthly business forecasting.

Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.

Present and sell company products and services to customers.

Prepare quotes and technical solutions to customer requirements.

Follow up on new and existing opportunities, and record all such activity and opportunity status in the company CRM system.

Develop and maintain current product knowledge.

To actively seek out market information on competitors, customers and market trends and to input this information into the company CRM system.

To prepare reports including sales activity, sales won/lost with reasons, follow-up activity, and any other reports as required by your manager.

Participate in events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.


Other duties:

Provide cover for other China Sales team staff sickness, holiday, or other absences.

Answer and professionally handle incoming calls to the sales office.

Evaluate other potential application of UV in water treatment.

Where required, to travel to customers’ sites throughout China to provide field based technical support.

Maintain full technical records of all test both in the laboratory and in the customer site.

Any other reasonable duties as required.


Freedom of action
You will be expected to take full ownership of the responsibilities above and use your initiative to operate independently and flexibly to achieve the required aims. In order to do this you will have full authority to take (with due regard to policies and requirements set by the company) all necessary decisions required to achieve this. This includes the authority to recommend and implement reasonable changes and improvements to systems and processes to enhance the effectiveness of your role and the department generally.


Candidate profile

All candidates will be thoroughly assessed through a rigorous multi-stage interview process (including psychometric testing), and all claims of qualifications and experience will be required to be backed by clear evidence.
The following are required characteristics:

Openness, honesty, integrity, independently

A minimum of a Junior College level qualification.

A track record of successful experience in capital equipment to China Pharma market.

A minimum of 2 years sales experience, with a good understanding of China Pharma market.

IT “enthusiast” – highly literate in Internet/PC / Windows / MS Office.

Experience of CRM systems – preferably SalesLogix.

Good communicator – ability to interface with all levels in the company.

Ability and independently to undertake national and international business travel, including Hanovia booths at trade events. Willing to spend up to 50% of time travelling.

Fluent in written Mandarin - fluent means being able to hold business meetings, sales negotiations, public presentations, etc in the language

The following are highly desirable characteristics:

Qualification in marketing or marketing communications

Knowledge of water treatment market would be an advantage.

Good at reading and written English.
