Position: Head of Ocean

Job Description

- Lead, manage, direct and develop the Ocean freight strategy, product, service, team and operation, aligned with the company strategy.

- Leadership for the Oceanfreight business globally for the region.

- Collaborate closely with the global procurement team on the best strategy for the negotiation and support the stablished guidelines.

- Develop and implement an Oceanfreight strategy based on growth, efficiency  and service excellence.

- Develop and maintain good and regular relationships with clients, suppliers, overseas offices and  agents.

- Develop and implement an Oceanfreight seasonal plan including slack season and peak season plan and execute the plan.

- Participate as an active member of the leadership team.

- Lead the constant improve of our standard processes until a state of perfection is reached in which perfect value is created with no waste.

- Develop and implement service quality and performance metrics and KPIs.

- Develop and enhance master data within the regions as well as maintenance of such.

- Provide regular and effective communication and consultation with key stakeholders within the group.

- Promote the training of the teams.

- Promote and lead regular meetings with the team to review performance and propose improvements.

- Prepare and oversee the Ocean freight financial and operational service budgets, and lead delivery of financial and operational service performance, KPIs and performance metrics.

- Lead the customer service, and operations teams for Ocean freight to achieve growth goals.

- Ensure regulatory compliance and that all activities comply with relevant legislation, Oceanfreight authorities’ legal demands and ethical standards of the Group.

- Ensure the timely reporting of monthly and quarterly management reports with the requisite financial and operational analysis, and ensure active cost management of the service.

- Proactively works on risk mitigation plan to address potential thread, offers recommendations for issue resolution and identify growth opportunities to support growth agenda.

- Establish and promote a culture of continuous improvement, mutual respect amongst staff and encourage the empowerment of subordinates.

- Team evaluation and follow up interviews.

Requirements

- A minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, logistics and supply chain or work experience equivalent.

- A minimum 5 years in management positions in the Logistics or Freight Forwarding industry.

- In-depth market knowledge of the Logistics or Freight Forwarding industry.

- Strong organizational, business writing and negotiation skills.

- Excellent presentation skills and strong attention to detail.

- Proven ability to multi-task and drive revenue from multiple accounts.

- Excellent client and vendor relationship management.

- Engineering and operations process management.

- Team Leadership.
