About This Job:

Syngenta Beijing Innovation Center is seeking a highly motivated scientist to be part of its global Molecular Technology Group, be a key member to drive innovation, accomplish key objectives and deliver goals of genome editing technologies for Syngenta key crops. The accountabilities as follows,

• Develop novel solutions for efficient genome editing technologies for Syngenta crops
• Provide in-depth technical expertise for genomic editing technology and plant analysis for Syngenta crops
• Manage research projects and actively interact with scientists across Syngenta global functions to ensure critical milestones met
• Maintain accurate experimental records and perform activities in compliance with Syngenta quality management and HSE guidelines

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

2. Able to design experiment independently and capable of data interpretation
3. Intensive hand on experiences in molecular biology technics, include but not limited to vector construction, PCR, sequencing analysis, site mutagenesis and plant genotyping.
4. Knowledge in plant genomics, developmental biology, molecular biology and biochemistry
5. Experience in genome editing technology research and development preferred
6. Experience in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and data analysis preferred
7. Experience in Agrobacterial biology and knowledge in plant cell biology is a plus
8. General knowledge in crop improvements via genomic editing is a plus, but not required;

Qualifications:

• MS with 4+ years lab research experiences or new PhD graduates in relevant field of molecular biology, genomics, genetics, biochemistry or biophysics
• Good project planning, execution and reporting skills
• Flexible in handling project change and consistently deliver in a rapidly changing environment
• Highly motivated, result oriented, open-mined and collaborative
• Proficient in English and excellent communication skills with global colleagues
• Good team player and able to work with others
