KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Funding

• Manage the Region credit facilities, other borrowings and associated financial instruments
• Main point of contact for schools’ treasury related queries, ensuring schools are supported with timely and commercial advice
• Advising on treasury implications of material Regional projects.
• Maintain excellent relationships with banks and other financial institutions in the Region
• Manage appropriate funding of the bilingual business, including CAPEX and pre-opening costs
• Model and monitor overall Regional cash position of the 5-yr model, using financial input from the finance function

Cash Management, Forecasting and Repatriation

• Optimize working capital (influence fee collections and timing) and CAPEX payments across the schools
• Monthly cash reporting to Group senior management
• Actively review and manage the cash positions across the school
• Report progress achieved by school against their cash repatriation targets, driving focus on cash and liquidity requirements, and offering advice and support
• Manage and advise on intercompany funding, including interest charges (in accordance with transfer pricing requirements) and ensure accuracy with accounting records

Tax Reporting & Compliance

• Manage year end and half year tax reporting
• Prepare tax forecast, working closely with Region Finance Operations and Region Accounting and the school finance teams
• Review and analysis of tax reporting packs of schools, providing challenge and/or guidance, as appropriate
• Manage corporate tax compliance for Region entities, being the regional main point of contact for the Group’s global tax compliance provider (Deloitte)
• Manage external tax advisors to ensure tax compliance requirements are satisfied
• Manage tax payments for Regional entities
• Ensure compliance with the Group’s tax policies and procedures in a timely manner
• Assistance with ad hoc direct and indirect tax queries, including VAT and withholding taxes
• Manage TP local reports, liaising with established global provider
• Maintaining and providing intercompany agreements

Tax Planning, Efficiencies and Support

• Support with tax planning for the schools
• Provide support for ad hoc tax queries from Group functions, regional finance teams and the schools
• Support tax training for the business

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS

• Skills, Knowledge and Experience
• Significant experience in operational treasury management (including cash management) for a large multinational Group in a managerial capacity and close working with banks
• Ability to maintain a robust control environment in a fast-growing organisation
• Qualified accountant Tax compliance and reporting experience
• Knowledge of International Accounting Standards
