Summary: The U.S. Mission in Shanghai is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Painter.

The work schedule for this position is:

? Full Time (40 hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position: No

Duties: The Painter performs journeyman level painting. Act as a painter and must ensure safe work practices and standard operating procedures are followed. The Painter performs alterations, repair and preventive maintenance on finishes at the skill level of a journeyman painter. The Painter prepares and refinishes surfaces as directed by the Maintenance Foreman and Maintenance Supervisor, takes direction to complete projects within time and budget, and works with other Tradesperson as directed to complete more complicated tasks.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience as a journeyman level painter is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Completion of vocational training or apprenticeship recognized as producing a journeyman level painter is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Rudimentary/Basic Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. Good Working Knowledge Speaking/Reading/Writing of Chinese is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to lift 25lbs.

Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.
