The Role

The NI Field Application Engineer (FAE) is a highly visible and unique position requiring a unique combination of deep technical domain expertise, industry and account knowledge, business acumen and growth mindset. A successful FAE is the technical owner of strategically important, high potential accounts in APAC region. They drive design wins and account growth through close partnership with the customer and the NI sales team, particularly the account managers. FAEs are involved in all phases of the customer engagement process: technical demand generation, NI solution promotion, technical validation, production evaluation and delivery execution. FAEs work with new and existing customers, introducing them to the broad range of cutting-edge technologies NI offers to solve their most ambitious applications.

Key Performance Objectives

? Expand and Maximize Opportunities

o Maximize business engagement and opportunity pipeline with key technical decision makers through approaching NI capabilities and solving customer challenging situations. Manage and increase opportunity pipeline in the target accounts. Increase visibility of NI FAE to be the trusted technical advisor role.

? Industrial and Account Domain Expertise

o During the first 6 months, understand target customers’ engineering process, key concerns, technical decision-making process / criteria, and challenges. And share technical discovery of customers to target account team regular base.

? Strong Relationship building and expanding customer base

o Identify at least 3 new potential customers during the first 6 months. Working closely with sales team present the NI capabilities and strategy and product development effort in formal and on-going customer development activities.

? NI Professional Conduit

o Within 90 days, acquire and understand NI platform and offerings technically which required to develop FAE target accounts and industries. Then, able to deliver and promote NI’s technical capabilities and values professionally to key customers in NI focus applications area.

Basic Qualifications

? Undergraduate or graduate degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)

? 8+ years total work experience of relevant Test and Measurement Industry

? 5+ years of relevant Semiconductor Industrial experience including:

   ? RFIC or mixed-signal IC applications in validation and production test; 

? 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role

? Technical knowledge of Automated Test software and hardware platforms in general

? Experience communicating directly with customers and collaborating with sales closely 

? Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in English 

? Willing and able to travel – within Taiwan and China (20% estimated), APAC and US (5% estimated)
