MTS Hardware Development Engineer

THE ROLE:

Manage customers’ projects development, including design schedule, risk management, general technical support and escalation management. Provide regular program status report to system core team, including project prioritizing, major communication interface to customer, silicon sampling, Jira/teamtrack system management, etc. Working with multiple function teams inside and outside of AMD to accomplish complex projects with aggressive schedule.

THE PERSON:

A quick learner for new technologies. Excellent communication skill (both verbal and written), including Mandarin and English. Key performance skills include decision making, problem solving, teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Customer interface for both technical and non-technical questions, first level customer support

? Responsible for customer project schedule alignment, sample delivering, training planning, customer interlocks and most of the none-technical communications.

? Leading the customer issues debugging, with global teams, inside and outside of AMD, holding the conference calls with customer for critical/urgent issues.

? Represent AMD engineering teams to join customer’s call.

? Dynamically prioritize the multiple projects, always put the effort on the most critical projects.

? Program management system maintaining, and continually process improvement.

? Relationship management with customers and dealing with customer’s escalations.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

? Leadership – Demonstrated leadership of complex cross-functional teams in an R&D and/or customer support environment. Ensures optimal use of assigned resources. Effectively influences laterally/up/down to achieve goal.

? Exec Communications – Extensive experience with executive presentations and proposals including the ability to summarize complex situations and recommendations succinctly.

? Problem Solving and decision making - Able to collect the necessary data/input and provide the team the work direction.

? Drive for results mindset – Able to use above capability to get customer’s product launch on time.

? Proficient English and Mandarin (listening, writing and speaking). ? Knowledge of x86 and/or ARM based product development flow, production reliability verification, validation and compatibility testing. ? Strong knowledge for BIOS, hardware design, Driver, OS (one of them), basically knowledge of system debug.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
? A technology related Bachelor's degree above plus 10 years of x86/ARM based product working experience, including technical program manager or direct engineering experience.
