Seagate's Government Relations team promotes and advances Seagate’s public policy priorities and overall business objectives by building relationships with government stakeholders, advising senior executives on significant governmental risks and opportunities, and serving as a primary liaison with key government agencies and industry associations.

About the Role – You will:

· Develop and execute Seagate’s overall government relations strategy in China by building strong relationships with government stakeholders, identifying key opportunities and risks posed by government policies or initiatives, and represent Seagate interests in relevant industry groups.

· Advise Seagate’s management team on risks and opportunities stemming from policy and regulatory developments and government initiatives in China.

· Work closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and to develop and execute plans to leverage relevant opportunities and mitigate identified risks with government partners at the national and provincial/municipal levels, as necessary.

· Be based in Beijing, China, and report to the Director of Global Government Relations.

About You:

· Strategic thinker able to develop innovative solutions for a diverse set of complex, cross-functional challenges and opportunities

· Deep understanding of Chinese government policies, processes and stakeholders at the national and provincial levels

· Strong confidence in representing the function and Seagate with senior internal and external stakeholders

· Ability to operate independently but also as part of a global team spread across the globe

· Demonstrated good business judgment and decision-making skills

· Ability to communicate persuasively and to provide clear and succinct analysis of complex policy issues and their impacts

· Familiarity with issues affecting multi-national technology companies in China (e.g. international trade, cybersecurity, data privacy, FDI policies, IP, industrial policy, and emerging technologies such as autonomous vehicles, smart cities, IoT, edge computing/storage, etc).

Your Experience Includes:

· Relevant experience with a multinational company, consulting firm, government, and/or trade association in a related field (including, but not limited to, government relations, public affairs, policy research, etc.)

· Direct experience organizing and leading high-priority corporate initiatives and strategic policy and/or advocacy efforts in a dynamic environment

· Managing and engaging with external consultants, business associations, and/other external resources

· Bachelor and/or equivalent degree

Now the company operates five branch offices in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu respectively, a surveillance center and a data recovery center in Hangzhou.
