About the Opportunity

We’re building out the human capital that will propel solutions across multiple categories. Drawing from disciplines including systems, optics, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, and industrial design, we’re assembling the capacity to provide even deeper customer collaboration on highly precise challenges across industries.

As Software Engineer, the successful candidate will drive development of multiple technology-based solutions to engineering and commercial problems. Specifically,  this role will:

? Utilize software experience and expertise in a multidisciplinary team to design, build, and test new solutions to meet customer requirements and specifications for imaging, spectral sensing, and color measurement applications.

? Develop customer-facing applications software to facilitate use of Ocean Insight’s products.

? Meet with customers and support onsite installation and demonstration of new equipment; helping facilitate key account relationships as technical liaison. 

About the Candidate

Our ideal candidate brings a wealth of software engineering experience and should possess:

? 5+ years of work experience in technical software development, preferably focused on instrumentation of some kind; more experienced candidates welcome to apply

? Hands-on experience developing tightly integrated hardware/software systems from concept through serial production

? Strong understanding of C/C++ fundamentals, including modern revisions (C++11, 14, 17, 20)

? Experience with the following a plus:

o Driver development/low-level interfacing with hardware

o Cross-platform development (Windows, OSX, Linux)

o GUI development (ideally, Qt)

? Familiarity with git and its usage in a highly-collaborative environment

? Familiarity with data science methods a plus

? Excellent skills in planning and communications, strong analytical capabilities, and an attention to detail

? Outstanding interpersonal skills, innovation, and the ability to motivate, inspire, and influence cross group/functional teams with a high degree of independence and success 

? An entrepreneurial spirit and mindset, bringing a natural curiosity for what “can be” and the willingness to challenge boundaries

? Ability to deal with ambiguity, navigate uncertain situations, and drive for clarity 

? Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed organization, influencing culture and decisions

? Strong bias for action, a high sense of urgency, and the ability to drive results

? Proven ability to work independently

? High standard of ethics and integrity
