General Description:
The Director – R&D Finance will provide key business partnering support to BeiGene’s Research & Development Functions. Based in Beijing, China and reporting into the VP of R&D Finance is a critical member of the R&D Finance Leadership Team. The ideal candidate will serve as the global finance lead to a team of four (
4) finance business partners who provide finance and decision support to the R&D Functional Heads including: Research, Global Regulatory, Global Clinical Operations, Global Patient Safety, Global Statistics & Data Sciences, APAC Development and Applied Innovation,
The Director/Sr. Director will lead the R&D functional FP&A, financial and business process improvements and enterprise optimization initiatives as well monthly/quarterly results vs. financial plan and financial metrics to support improved organizational decision making. The Director of FP&A will play a key role in partnering HR, Sourcing, Accounting and the Finance team on organizational efficiency and process improvement initiatives to improve resource allocation, transparency and drive organizational cost savings.
The successful candidate will have deep pharmaceutical experience with an understanding of both R&D, working in a global environment and leading and delivering business process improvement initiatives with a clear ROI/organizational benefit. The Director will be a hands-on and valued partner that provides analytical and strategic support to the business functions, can influence and challenge business assumptions and works closely with senior functional management to support high quality decision making while adhering to budget guidelines. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the mechanisms of financial reporting, accounting and financial systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as the role with communicate frequently with the BeiGene China team and will support departments in various locations across the globe.

Essential Functions of the job:
?Support the annual operating plan, budget and quarterly forecasting processes
?Provide decision support for portfolio governance decisions
?Provide financial support to our external development collaborations
?Develop internal reporting packages, dashboards and monthly BVA reports to support decision making
?Proactively identify, design, and implement enhancements to existing sourcing and governance processes to drive enterprise efficiency and resource optimization
?Provide management with forecast insights, performance metrics and financial analytics for improved organizational decision making
?Strong knowledge of FP&A reporting systems

Education/Experience Required:
?10+ years of relevant experience in financial planning role, preferably in pharma or biotech organization
?Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
?Strong business partnering, influencing and analytical skills with demonstrated business insights and process impact in previous roles
Computer Skills :
?Strong computer software skills (Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
?Experience using financial systems, including skill with ERP and budgeting tools (e.g., TM1, Hyperion, Adaptive, etc)
Travel:
Some travel in China required with minimal travel to the U.S.
