I Overall Responsibilities

Serve as the R&D engineer in Robotics R&D China.

Working as manipulator mechanical designer.

II Principal Accountabilities

1. Design, implement and test ABB robot products, ensuring ABB quality specifications are met

  § Design the mechanical structure including motor, gearbox, cable harness, casting, machining, sheet metal, sealing system, materials etc.

  § Product prototypes assembly, implement and test work.

  § Communication with cross functions, suppliers and other related persons.

  § Working on problem solving within project process.

  § Writing technical documents as project requirements.2
2. Follow ABB lean product development process and gate model

3. Participate in robot product and system test in lab.

III Requirements

l MS or PhD in CS, EE, ME, and Automation or equivalent degree with necessary expertise in the mentioned areas

l Good technical skill level in related technical areas

l Ability of professional communication in English

l Having ability of problem solving, teamwork skills and time management,

l experience a positive attitude to work, engagement in the tasks and a strong result-orientation
