DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The BUM shall establish and maintain each customer relationship. Each BUM has the responsibility and authority of the Chief Executive Officer over corporate decisions affecting that individual profit centre or Business Unit. Through the use of this pivotal manager acting as an independent entrepreneur, the customer is assured of complete awareness and responsiveness to his needs and a tireless watchdog over all aspects of Jabil Circuit, Inc.'s performance for the customer.
? Execute day-to-day tactical operational requirements within the individual profit centre or business unit to assure timely delivery, quality, process conformance, and test procedures. Set goals for operational metrics and drive continuous improvement.
(Note: Business Unit Managers do not have line authority over manufacturing operations, but speak to manufacturing as a representative of the Chief Executive Officer)
? Provide innovative solutions to customer needs and ownership of profit centre or business unit economics: absolute profits, margins, RONA, etc.
? Assure best-in-class customer satisfaction and services.
? Negotiate contracts and constantly evaluate and assess risk versus reward. Assess the quality of customer relationships and exercise the authority to terminate those relationships when necessary.
? Coach, lead, and mentor Business Unit Coordinators and business unit work cell functional members with positive attitude and administer performance reviews.
? Provide planning on profit centre or business unit staffing, organizational structure, and succession.
? Establish customer relationship by identifying potential customers and associated strategic and marketing plans. Maintain strong customer relationships at all level. Subject to credit approval from Finance, accept or decline invitations to form customer relationships.
? Coordinate development of all aspects of quotations, including manufacturing, materials, test, packaging and tooling. Exercise final authority to establish any cost assumptions or pricing positions contained in any quotation.
? Exercise complete responsibility and authority over all changes to any assemblies in the individual profit centre or business unit, including volumes, schedules, engineering changes, and all other unforeseen variations to a project.
? Stimulate cost reduction for any assemblies in the individual profit center or business unit through material sourcing evaluations, manufacturing effectiveness evaluations, tooling design reviews and design evaluations. Utilize the authority to commit personnel from other departments to these analyses.
? Read, understand, and support the implementation of systems stated in all Quality Manual.


REQUIREMENTS
? University degrees in engineering or business. Master degrees in business or finance preferred.
? Solid knowledge in all operational elements of electronic manufacturing.
? 8 years or more working experience in electronic manufacturing in which 3 to 5 years in managerial positions. Working experience in multinational companies and exposure in EMS industry are advantages.
? Excellent command of English and Mandarin. Multilingual skill is an advantage.

? Ability to create and present sophisticate business overview
? Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and team members

? Flexible for rotations in project opportunities.
? Willing to travel 30-50% of the time.
