Job Title: Lead Supplier Project Manager Reports To: Global NPI Manager

Department: Global Mechanicals and Enclosures Plant: Global Supply Chain Management

SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, and representing Global Mechanicals and Enclosures (GME), this person will be responsible to lead the commercialization process for mechanical components. The engagement model includes Build-To-Print Projects (commercialization based on finalized design) and Localization Projects (local or alternative sourcing activities).



The person is expected to work closely with Cross Functional Team such as Sector Manager, Supply Chain Development Manager, Business Unit Manager, Commodity Manager and Work Cell Manager to lead Mechanical Supply Chain Project Management drive processes to increase efficiency and value from Supply Chain throughout the commercialization process. Include systems, Early Supplier Involvement, DFX support, Tooling Design and Fabrication, Project Schedule Management, Tooling and Component Approval using JPPAP process, Cost Estimation and Management.



The Lead Supplier Project Manager will manage a cross cultural and multiple discipline team of up to 10 members (Supplier Project Managers, Supplier Quality Engineers, Tooling Project Engineers) within the same location. This person is responsible to manage and resolve the 1st level of escalation of projects executed by his team.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES



q Collaborate closely with Commodity Manager drive spend and improve engagement with GME Strategic Suppliers

q Develop strategies to improve the level of Strategic Supplier capabilities to ensure project execution success with quality


LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES



q Mentors and coaches team members on technical and business issues as required.

q Responsible for development of team members and succession planning

q Manage Quarterly Resource planning process to ensure maximum utilization of Leveraged and Dedicated resources

q Know and understand the business strategic direction.

q Provide weekly project status report to Global NPI Lead

q Utilize tools to monitor project cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value to the customer




FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES



q Responsible to discipline his team members to utilize current systems, process and procedure

q Responsible for resource projection and efficiently utilize dedicated and leverage resource across all Sectors within Jabil

q Responsible for Technical leadership for his Team of Supplier Project Managers and supporting member.

q Responsible for on-boarding process for new hire

q Responsible for the commercialization of mechanical components for both Jabil and Customer Design products. This includes all aspect of cost, quality, flexibility and assurance of supply.

q Responsible for localization or alternative sourcing projects




MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


Bachelors degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent proven track record in an EMS or similar environment is required. A minimum of eight to ten (8 - 10) years of experience in custom mechanical supply chain industry is essential, either from within the supply chain itself or from within an EMS or OEM environment. A solid understanding of custom mechanical manufacturing and materials management is required, as well as a proven track record in negotiation, cost reduction activities, operational and program management. Strong leadership skills are required. Extensive domestic, regional and international travel is required.



Possess project management skills including scheduling and resource allocation forecasting. Proficient skills in various software applications including CAD, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent command of the English and Chinese language (written and verbal). Must be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.




LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to Business Unit Management, Customer, and other members of the Jabil staff. Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages.


ANALYTICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to solve practical problems with limited information. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings and files and estimate relevant material and manufacturing costs.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines. Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs. Be accessible to production floor and office staff and to use required office equipment. Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen frequently.



WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individual's primary workstation is located in the office area, where the noise level is low. Team member may frequently be present on the manufacturing floor of Jabil Circuit's supply chain partners where the noise level and temperature can be moderate to high.
