ABB's Robotics and Discrete Automation business is writing the future of flexible factory and smart machines by providing value-added solutions in robotics, machine and factory automation. This is a Purchasing Buyer role, reporting to the Procurement and Logistics Manager in Business Area – Robotics and Discrete Automation located in Shanghai, China.

- Initiating purchase orders (PO) in the system, according to the Purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures, and confirming delivery with suppliers, monitoring and tracking supplier performance to purchase order requirements.
- Tracking goods received to verify appropriate delivery and ensuring invoice processing.
- Overseeing supplier performance (on time delivery, quality, lead time), and resolving performance issues.
- Aligning supplier orders with requirements (based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price.
- Conducting all Procurement & Logistics activities for all goods and services in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensuring Pro-Supply global supplier relationship management platform is kept updated as defined in Pro-Supply procedure.
- Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

- Must have a bachelor’s degree.
- Must have 2-5 years of purchasing buyer experience and experience in international terms of trade and payment.
- Sound knowledge in MRP system.
- “Integrity” is highly desirable while dealing with people within the organization and suppliers.
- Must be excellent English (spoken and written) and have excellent analytical abilities.
- Must be highly skilled in MS office and have strong ability for coordination and drive cross function team.
- Must be open minded and have willingness to learn.
