Responsibilities

Responsible for analyzing and finding solutions to technical support issues in Vizrt broadcast and automation products. Customers log technical support issues in our support portal or by phone. The Support Engineer picks up these issues and works with the customer to find a solution to the technical issues.

Tasks and Duties 

• Support software systems at Vizrt customers, as part of a support team
• Interacts verbally and electronically with customers and co-workers on a daily basis
• Communicate with customers about their technical issues in a professional way. Takes ownership of customer issues reported and seeing problems through to resolution
• Troubleshoot Vizrt systems in production in an efficient and professional manner
• Able to standby on weekend shift (8 hours, maximum 2 days per month)

               

Qualifications

Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience

• 3+ years system administration experience working in an enterprise software environment
• 1 year of experience with any programming or scripting language

Required Experience

• Good technical problem-solving skills
• Experience in configuration and maintenance of applications such as any of the following: Apache, IBM Tivoli, PosgreSQL, Oracle, NFS, CIFS, DHCP, SSH, DNS, and SNMP, SAN storage
• Experience troubleshooting mission critical software systems
• Experience providing second line support for customers in a professional manner
• Languages: English Proficiency Skills

Preferred Experience

    

• Experience writing code in at least one of the following languages: Javascript, Visual Basic
• Experience using REST and SOAP API’s, XML, JSON
• Broadcast and Digital Media industry experience as a system engineer, devops, developer or support engineer 
• Experience and relevant certifications in storage and networking architecture
