Area of Responsibilities:

Execute Design & Development

-
Works with engineering team, marketing and other CFT in product and system
requirement definition for NPD project, construct system architecture, and
assist project managers to setup technical milestones.

-
Works with and leads team members to generate design concepts and develop
detail designs which meet design requirements.

-
Works with and leads team members and external suppliers to design and develop
optimized designs that will result in high quality and low-cost products which
are easily manufactured.

-
Works with and leads team members and external suppliers to produce functional
prototypes for evaluation.

-
Works with and leads team members to perform complex design analysis (QFD,
DFMEA, tolerance analysis, FEA, DOE's, simulated use testing, etc.).

-
Works with and leads team members to perform component and assembly
qualifications.

-
Works with the V&V team to develop verification/validation
plans, executes testing and documents results.

-
Works with and leads team members to maintain and update relevant documentation
to comply with the quality management system.

Provides a high level of subject matter expertise to the organization across
multiple fields.

teams, including influencing both internal and external members to achieve

Leads or supports others to execute design tasks mainly in NPD projects.

Drives technical decision making, including oversight of processes, ensuring
all design works are administered in adherence to established quality or
performance metrics, investigation of problems with machinery, and suggesting
and implementing solutions.

Develops and maintain procedures and tools for the design team to achieve
effective design.

Analyzes technology, resource needs and market demand to plan and assess the
feasibility of projects.

Sets technical goals within broad outlines provided by upper management.

Supervisory Responsibility

Recruit and retain talents that are aligned with business strategy and meet
project needs

Provides mentorship, guidance and leadership within the design team.

Responsible for direct reports and accomplishing work through outside resources
(i.e., consultants, contractors, design suppliers).

Responsible for managing the activities of direct reports and ensuring the
organization’s abilities continue to improve through individual development and
organizational capabilities.

Leads staff performance management activities to improve capabilities and
skills using regular objective setting and review process, performing
appraisals and coaching of individuals on development plans.
