Role & Responsibilities:

 

Job Definition (Key Purpose of the Job) :

 

Supporting trademark attorney in trademark prosecution and conflict matters in China, in order to develop strong protection of VF brands in China against infringers and counterfeiters.

 

Key Result Areas :

- Preparing drafts of trademark prosecution, opposition, and invalidation filings; coordinating filings with agent.

- Managing records of trademark filings and coordinating with global team to ensure that central databases of trademark activity are updated.

- Conducting initial trademark searches, review and analysis, and providing recommendations to trademark attorney on availability for use and registration.

- Collecting and cataloging key evidence of trademark use within China.

- Assist trademark attorney in reviewing and analyzing third party trademark applications for possible responsive action.

-         Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese.

- Self-motivated and able to work independently under high pressure and with minimum supervision;

-         Familiar with trademark prosecution time frame, deadlines and procedures

-         Proficiency in internet research activities

Experience

 

Minimum Relevant Experience: 3-4 years’ experience with knowledge of trademark prosecution and proceedings experience.

 

 

Academic Qualifications

 

Minimum Degree Held: Law degree from PRC law school or foreign institution. 

Subject Expert In: 

Certifications Required : PRC bar

 

Language Proficiency:

 

-           Fluent in : English

-          Average in : 

 

Specific Working Conditions

Frequency of Travel:  10%
