Responsibilities:

• Review, draft, and negotiate agreements with customers and suppliers, confidentiality agreements, and other complex commercial agreements.

• Provide guidance on business and legal risks to internal teams as needed.

• Assist in implementing and maintaining appropriate policies and procedures to ensure the company’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including privacy and consumer protection compliance, and assess potential risk where there might be alternatives.

• Help build and improve form agreements and legal processes.

• Position is to be located in Company’s Shanghai office.

• Reporting to the Company’s Legal Director - APAC, this position has the potential for significant responsibility and professional development.

   

 Requirements:

• Graduate degree in law; admission to practice law in China.

• 3-5 years of experience, preferably with at least 2 years of transactional experience handling matters related to customer and supplier contracts. In-house experience and major law firm experience is favorably considered.

• Superior written and oral communication skills, along with excellent presentation and pragmatic problem-solving skills.

• Ability to quickly establish a solid rapport and trust with the legal team and executives and develop strong working relationships with internal business partners.

• Excellent strategic, organizational, and business process skills with the ability to follow through on numerous projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.

• Ability to work well independently, coupled with strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and an ability to participate in a highly collaborative team environment.

• Flexibility, strong commitment to professionalism, and collegiality.

• Business-fluent English; Japanese language speaker is favorably considered.
