BASIC FUNCTION

Accountable for executing the New Product Schedule utilizing cross-functional resources and the NPD process.     

                                                

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

 Ensure high quality products are developed, built, and delivered on time as defined by the commitments documented in the New Product Schedule.

 

 

 New Product Development:

 

·         Deliver annual NPD schedule as aligned with business

 

·         Take the leadership of Products being developed for commercial category in China. (Kohler Facilities)

 

·         Act as Project Leader and execute project management duties on New Product Development / Migration projects through the defined product development process.

 

·         Lead cross functional teams through the development of a project timeline and maintain it throughout the life of the project. Periodically present and record the status of the project to management team

 

·         Works with China manufacturing and purchasing teams to develop partnerships with

key suppliers to harness their capabilities and capacity.

 

• Works with regional product marketing partners and Industrial Design teams to ensure that marketing scopes are well defined to ensure smooth NPD activity throughout the project

 

• Support Marketing and ID team during CR(Concept Review) & DR (Design Review process) by liaising with Engineering and Manufacturing team to drive cost and budget estimates.

 

• Provide business project management capabilities, delivering projects through multi-        disciplinary team working to time, cost and quality goals

 

• Make project plan, such as project schedule, status report, action list, checklist, etc.

 

• Solves outstanding issues and follow up on risks.

 

• Drive the supporting teams like Engineering, Manufacturing Sourcing, Quality & Supply chain towards on time completion of the pre-production build and pilot build on NPD projects

 

·         Keep tracing the NPS- New Product Schedule and align with project team for the timing to kickoff and launch new products based on resource availability.

 

·         Evaluates the performance of project team members and work on resource optimization basis project priority defined by Business.

 

·         Develop and manage the project budget with the team, including development expense, Capital investment. Keep a track of Budget required for New Development basis NPS schedule and support in yearly capital planning activity.

 

·         Conduct weekly / Monthly review with Cross functional team and Management updating project progress.

 

·         Summarizes and analyses the project when completed for the benefit of learning and process improvement.

Project Reporting / Communication:

 

? Provide monthly Project update status for management by publishing dashboards

? Maintain project data (budget, timeline, status, etc.)

? Project status update for Product Council / Business Review meetings.

?  Biweekly updating of project online data base.

 

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

         Supervisory Relationships:

1.       Direct report to Program Manager Global Commercial.

         Organization Relationships:

1.       Frequent collaborative associations with senior management and staffs in Marketing, Purchasing, Industrial Design and Manufacturing

 

Occasional contact

1.       Collaborative associations with Legal and Accounting.

2.       Business leaders for conflict resolution and executive summaries of project status

3.       Manufacturing operational leaders to insure alignment of NPS commitments in areas of resources, capacity, etc

         External Business Relationships:

1.       Collaborative associations with suppliers.

2.      Attend related trade shows and seminars to investigate new materials, products and processes                            

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree Engineering (Mechanical/Automobile / Electronics.)

• 8-10  Years of related work experience, with at least 4-6 years as project leader or Technical leader in Engineering or Product Development role.  

• Can handle new projects independently.

• Have cross-functional work experience, such as account leader, planner, sourcing, Quality.

• Excellent communication skill and interpersonal skill.

• Good flexibility and can work under high pressure.

• Be flexible to address project management needs for any projects within Global Commercial Products as they arise

• Strong leadership and analytical skill.

• Good English speaking and writing skill, good PC/ MS office skill. 

• Experience on MS Project / Teams / Project Online or other Project Management software.

• MBA / PMP / Prince 2 certification would be added advantage.  

• Travel required 15% to 20% as part of the role visiting Kohler and Vendor facility basis project needs.
