In this exciting field, the Search Technology Center Asia (STC-A) team is striving to provide customers in Asia with world-class value and innovation.
STC-A Asia Experiences team is looking for an experienced, talented Program Manager to join our team. We need a person who shares our passion and enthusiasm for the opportunity to work creatively in this start-up like environment. An ideal candidate will feel comfortable operating within a fast moving, multi-cultural research and development team with a strong focus on results and delivering customer value.
As a member of our Program Management team, you will be responsible for envisioning, defining, planning, and driving the execution of multiple search and map products/features in Asia. The role requires understanding of technical architecture of large-scale distributed service systems, current online industry trends and technologies in China and Asia, mastery of program and project management, and knowledge/experience in international product development. You are also expected to provide leadership and coaching to other junior Program Managers in the team.
Must have:
- Minimum 5 years of designing and shipping software products/services
- A BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical expertise
- English written & verbal communication skills
- Excellent project management and prioritization skills
- Excellent metric and KPI driven problem solving skills
- Proven ability to work with external business partners
- Proven ability to deliver results independently while overcoming obstacles along the way
- Ability to work with teams and people in remote locations
Desired:
- Experience with search or document retrieval technologies
- Experience with geospatial data and GIS
- Experience working on large scale online services
- Chinese written & verbal communication skills

STCA was founded in 2005 and is now starting the second “Five-Year Plan” after integrating with Ads Platform and Bing Mobile in 2011. The new team has not only built up its strengths and expanded its scope, but also set a shared goal, broadened its vision, and is equipped with richer resources that give the team the confidence to scale new heights.
STCA is now focusing on the following areas: the continuous exploration of Bing search technology; the technical innovation of online advertisement services; the development of the MSN social platform; and the development of mobile search applications, and the next generation of Microsoft’s speech and natural language platform. Today, STCA is the largest R&D team of the Microsoft Online Services Division outside the United States with investment plans to scale well over 460 in FY12.
