Headquartered in Shanghai, HSBC Life Insurance Company Limited is a 50-50 joint venture between HSBC Insurance (Asia) Limited and The National Trust Ltd. with a registered capital of RMB 1025 million. HSBC Life offers a comprehensive range of insurance solutions to our customers covering protection, retirement, children’s education, wealth growth and management, and legacy planning.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

 

In this role, you will

 

• Manage PE fund investment and allocation for the company's General Account funds, and achieve investment income/return targets.
• Develop PE fund investment opportunities, conduct due diligence, valuation, and draft investment reports, form investment strategy, present investment proposal to obtain approval from relevant approval bodies and committees, and complete execution process.
• Build up and complete PE fund investment model, lead the team to perform periodical reviews of relative PE fund, and external manager's performance, make recommendations of investment pool.
• Lead the team to prepare PE fund market review (including report and ad hoc market commentary), and provide support to relevant internal departments.
• Develop and expand counterparty coverage and build up business relationship.
• Manage and supervise third-party asset manager relations and draft entrusted management mandates and contracts.
• Support the Chief Investment Officer and other senior stakeholders on miscellaneous requests.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements

 

 

• Good knowledge of China's PE market

• In-depth understanding of China's investment and insurance regulations and practices

• Wide network with PE houses

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills

• Solid financial academic background and knowledge

• Good analytical skill and quick and determined action

• Post-graduate degree in Investment, Finance or related discipline

• Relevant work experience of at least 10 years, including direct/indirect PE investment, post investment management or risk management

• Profound knowledge of the China PE investment

• Ability to work under pressure in a complex matrix organization

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills – able to make business aligned and timely decisions

• Good master of verbal and written English
