Details
Purpose
The 3rd Party Software and OEM Global Commodity Manager will be responsible
for supporting all 3P procurement/quote requests for both OEM Hardware and
Direct Software supplier management in support of Commtest business and
project activities.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain supplier strategies and Approved Supplier /
Manufacturer List.
2. Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with preferred suppliers. Owns
the TQRDCE process and supplier relationship management of JDSU 3P SW and
OEM suppliers.
3. Provide RFP, supplier qualification, negotiation and contracting support for 3P
engagements.
4. Drive cost savings initiatives for existing 3P suppliers and new 3P
procurements.
5. Provide procurement support to customer quotes/agreements, customer
trials, etc.
6. Provide support to direct material activities as needed for part shortages,
changes, etc. that affect product/revenue shipments.
7. Provide support to finance by creating and supporting and maintaining Trade
Royalty Request Forms and answering finance payment queries.
8. Provide support to the business by providing contractual advice, negotiating
new 3P contracts and contract amendments.
9. Contracts management/administration responsible for the creation,
maintenance and administration of supplier contracts of varying scope and
complexity.
10. Contracts negotiation. Responsible for consulting and/or negotiation of
product/services/software licensing contracts with external 3P suppliers,
including development of pre-negotiation contract strategies and proposals
consistent with business objectives.
11. Supplier/Royalty Management- Responsible for managing supplier
relationships and royalty payments as it relates to contracts and supply chain
related activities
Required
Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent technical work experience. MBA (or equivalent
expertise) preferred. 5-7 years Contract negotiation experience in high tech
environment. Software and OEM/ODM negotiation experience required.

Experienced in Third Party Management / Project Management skills -
Experience of successfully managing the relationship with a third party
organization and communicating across all levels of management
Quickly creates credibility - Confident, able to effectively and positively
communicate, instills trust in the commitments given to both our 3rd Parties
and JDSU management.
Negotiation and influencing skills. Demonstrated ability to challenge the status
quo and to influence the actions and opinions of others in third party
organizations.
Technical Domain knowledge - Can clearly communicate with all levels within
R&D, Supply Chain, Legal, R&D, and Product Marketing and Business
Development.
Judgment - Clear thinker and problem solver in complex situations. Is able to
work to strict deadlines and balance the varying priorities that exist at any one
time. Maintain an effective balance between operational performance and
strategic development
Continual Process Improvement - Has a proven record of Managing and driving
CPI activities with direct and remote teams.
Project Management - Demonstrable Project management experience driving
complex projects under tight timelines.
Experienced in Cross Functional teams - Experience of successfully managing
the relationship within cross functional dispersed project teams and
communicating across all levels of management. Proven track record of
leadership skills
