R&D mechanical engineer plays a critical role in new product development project and be part of high-performance project team to design and develop state of art and high-quality analytical instrument solutions to help customer analyze chemical compounds in different substance.

In this role, a mechanical engineer will apply knowledge of physics and mechanics to design, develop and prove new instrument functions and performance that will enhance analysis sensitivity, increase analysis efficiency, and simplify analysis technique. Mechanical engineer will also work with project team to ensure the final product meets all regulations as well as the features that matters customers.

For expert level engineer and research level engineer, in addition to above roles, it is expected to develop broad concepts and build business strategies into structured projects, to lead technology advancement as well as mentor and coach junior engineers.

The primary duties and responsibilities will be

1. Design and develop chemical analytical instrument new technologies and functionality that fits customer application.
2. Perform theoretical research and development on gas chromatograph techniques.
3. Create mechanical structures to first prove the feasibility, and finally the practicality of the approach being followed to meet the design goals.  Produce all documentation required for its fabrication by the manufacturing groups.
4. Carries out analysis and evaluations of successive version of hardware to ensure that fundamentals are fully understood, basic problems are solved and that the design is sufficiently robust to avoid future problems due to expected variations in component / environmental parameters.
5. Assists in integration, evaluation, modification of overall instrument / system. Provide tested functional hardware for same.
6. Ensures that all documentation is accomplished and in proper form including any important component specifications.
7. Work with manufacturing team to bring new products into production and provide technical supports to maintain production.
8. Work with marketing product manuals, product service and application development to support marketing collateral development and to ensure successful commercialization of new product.
