Position: Group Brand Management
Division: Group Sales & Marketing
Entity: VCIC
Location: Beijing
Scope, objective and relevance of position:
This position reports to the head of Group Product Marketing & Market Research to steer all Group-related brand management strategies, ensuring a fit in terms of customer / vehicle differentiation and positioning in the Greater China region. Additionally, this position will be responsible to analyze and strategize the adaptation of “new technologies” (e.g ADAS, various NEV-related technologies) into Volkswagen Group China brands that will be able to meet strategic market share and fulfillment of regulatory commitments
This position is responsible to align the Group Brand’s overall customer and product differentiation to minimize conflicts / substitution between the brands, working with the brands’ product marketing and strategy teams.
Additionally, this position will be responsible to provide Sales and Marketing inputs to discussions within VGC on incorporating “new technologies” such as ADAS and NEW-related technologies (e.g FCEV, Hydrogen fuel vehicles, etc) to represent the “voice of the customer”
VCIC targets to be one of the most innovative automotive brands (VW); new technology / innovation in the future will also help to shape the image of the brand
Key Tasks:
1. Product Positioning Decision Making (e.g CDS / CVDS, etc)
Jointly define product and positioning for decision making at Board level by steering PSK-Vorlagenerstellung for Sales & Marketing;
Develop strategy on vehicle positioning (Customer target groups, targeted sales volume, price position, competitor definition, USP/heavy items, main vehicle characteristics);
Manage VCIC brand territory discussions;
2. Evaluation of new technologies
Providing Sales and Marketing input (“Voice of customers”) for Group’s analyses and evaluation of new technologies;
Provide insights into possible impact of new technologies on Group’s current and future portfolio;
Keep up to date with latest automotive technology trend affecting China - e.g autonomous driving, active safety, new energy (FCEV, etc);
Qualification and skills:
Education:
University Degree and above; preferably Masters’ Degree in Business / Economics / Engineering or similar
Professional experience:
Minimum 5-7 years professional work experiences in relevant fields as product marketing, product development, product planning, business / research analysis
Knowledge in Group Product Marketing and experience in Chinese automotive industry and market
Personal attributes:
Strong technical knowledge, automotive industry trends, and other on-going development in the industry
Strong research, analytical, problem solving skills
Client and detail oriented; able to work well independently and also in a team environment
Special skills:
MS Office proficient
Proficiency in technical reports and memo creation
Knowledge of the automotive industry, including inner workings and terminologies
Knowledge of Volkswagen Group’s product development process is advantageous
English language skills is essential, including good grasp of Business English and official English writing; German and Chinese (Mandarin) is much preferred.
