1.    have industry experience to develop the cell line of therapeutic protein in CDMO company and or Bio-pharma, MS/PhD with work experience is better.

2.    Or, have strong academia background on transfection/cell line development related area in colleague, PhD is also acceptable even the work experience is limited .

3.    The candidate should have on-hands and theoretical experience on above field, and willing to work independently/team work in the lab to be responsible for the execution of the experiment, paper work and project presentation (Mandarin and English)

Purpose of the role

Within the Merck End to End Biodevelopment Shanghai Upstream team, you will be primarily responsible for cell line development/cell culture process development/pilot production, including cell culture, frozen, expansion thawing, screening, clone selection and identification, medium and feed screening, process development at bench scale bioreactors and pilot scale up production and study.

Responsibilities

• Perform all mammalian cell culture experiments related to cell line development/cell culture process development/pilot production (at least one of three)
• Perform related activities such as medium and buffer preparation, documents preparation and data record
• Accountable for completing the assigned task in a timely manner
• Maintenance of equipment, consumables, reagents and facility related to the activities above.
• Make sure all activities are compliant to the policy of the lab, company and regulatory requirements
• Effective communication of data/results through written documentation and oral presentation
• Support all activities needed for the implementation of the experiments and projects

Requirements

• Degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Pharmacy or related area
• At least 1 year hands on experience of mammalian cell culture techniques (at least one from cell line development/upstream process development/pilot scale) for MS and at least 2 years for BS
• Master the use of Microsoft office software is desirable
• Basic English reading and writing is desirable
• Experience of analytical software like SPSS is a plus
• Publishing of related academic articles is a plus
• Fluent spoken and written English is a plus
• Quality concept is a plus
• Team spirit, proactive, logical and scientific thinking is desirable
