MISSIONS

The business of the Firm in China is growing. Our client is looking for a Corporate & Commercial Associate of about 3-5 years PQE to join them and assist in delivering the very best client experience.

This role gives the opportunity to work in a wide spectrum of non-contentious corporate and commercial matters – principally commercial contract drafting, joint ventures and group restructurings, employment and EHS matters, international trade and customs, dispute resolution in cooperation with external Chinese law firms, etc.

The Associate will work diligently on matters for clients as per the instructions of the team leader (a Chinese Director/senior lawyer) based in the Guangzhou office and the Partner (a European lawyer) managing the office.

RESPONSABILITIES

? Conduct legal research (company law, FDI, international trade, employment law, etc);

? Draft memos, review contracts and draft other legal documentation in Chinese and English;

? Assist in contract negotiations between foreign and Chinese parties;

? Translate legal and administrative documents;

? Assist in relevant administrative formalities for company set-up;

? Work together with external lawyers for disputes resolution;

? And any other tasks asked by the team leader and partners of the Firm.

REQUIREMENTS

? 3-5 years PQE;

? Chinese law degree;

? Passed Chinese bar exam;

? Having worked with companies and/or clients on Chinese law and practice;

? Hold a professional and friendly attitude;

? Strong communication skills on business and legal matters;

? Proficiency in business and legal English, spoken and written;

? Good at digital tools for office purposes, such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word software;

? Keen to expand their knowledge base and skills.
