Autodesk Revit seeks a principal software engineer for our Building & Infrastructure Design (BID) Group in Autodesk China R&D Center (ACRD) based in Shanghai, China. As a principal engineer, you will be a tech leader of a product team design and deliver Revit features, APIs, especially MEP related features. You will be a member of a scrum team works with product managers, architects, product owners, developers, quality assurance engineers and user experience designers, to collaboratively deliver various team requirements and goals to advance the product for subscriptions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and document new and existing software features to ensure software meets business, quality and operational needs
• Work with product manager and product owners to interpret and translate business needs to technical requirements
• Lead software development by closely working with software architects, product owners, scrum masters and other stakeholders
• Drive and participate in code and document reviews, coaching team in best engineering practices
• Ensure high quality software is delivered by following engineering practices like peer code reviews, code standards, and unit testing
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality and performance is achieved
• Apply extensive technical expertise to resolve challenging programming and design problems
• Design and implement solutions to enable robust, scalable and maintainable software
• Contribute to technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing time, resource, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent domain
• Over 10 years of software development experience
• Strong development proficiency in C++, C#, .NET programming skills
• Detail-oriented with respect to software development process, communication and documentation
• Be able to monitor and troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fast-pace product delivery and scrum practices is a plus
• Experience in BIM software development is a plus
• Possess strong analytical skills with excellent problem-solving abilities is a plus
• Technical leadership experience in one or more areas of graphics, modeling is a plus
