Position Overview

Envisions, researches, designs and validates new workflows and user interactions for AEC industry leading design products. Entrepreneurial leader and persuasive communicator who facilitate adoption with fellow UX (User Experience) Designers and Software Engineering team members working in an Agile process. Synthesizes user experience strategy, product management vision, user needs, and technology constraints to design and deliver user interaction prototypes and standards that optimize product usability, usefulness and user delight. Evangelizes next generation platform standards and works cross-functionally to evaluate, design, build, and test new product solutions. Passion for great design and its impact on customer experience.
 

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research to gather market and customer requirements
• Transfer understanding of user needs and workflows to propose strategic enhancements. Working with Product Manager and Product Owner, distills this into a set of features that will benefit the user in the most effective way
• Leverage data analytics results and tools to analyze customer usage data and support design decisions
• Design alternative solutions, evaluating them to choose the best approach. Visualize and prototype intended solutions and collaborate with key Product and Engineering stakeholders to evaluate
• Coordinate and facilitate usability tests and other target user researches with scrum team members and/or Product Managers
• Deliver design communication artifacts (documents, presentations, low, high fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, etc.) for use by a wide range of audiences
• Facilitate presentations and discussions with customers, developers, and product marketers to drive resolution on proposed features and functionality
• Partner with development team to drive successful implementation of user experience design. Resolve any implementation issues that affect the design
• Partner with other designers to make sure cohesive experiences across different platforms and products

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional interaction design and usability evaluation/research experience with multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Technical background and/or a demonstrable understanding of modern software development processes and concerns as they relate to design.
• Ability to develop interactive prototypes and documentation to aid evaluation and development of designs.
• Strong communications skills: written, verbal and visual.
• Fluent in both Chinese and English.
• Impeccable design sensitivity and aesthetic.
• Ability to solve complex problems and drive projects from concept through implementation.
• Highly adaptable with strong organizational skills.
• Fast learning
• Proactive; willing to take initiatives and risks.

Additional desired qualifications

• Experience with architectural design tools.
• Previous experience designing for complex creative, 3D, and/or engineering analysis applications.
• An advanced degree in an HCI-related subject.
• Expertise in modern software development processes and concepts (Agile) for user experience.
• Entrepreneurial spirit: experience with software start-up or UX Consulting Services firm.
• Demonstrable interest in the details and the results of the design process, not just the initial concept
• Ability to partner with user research to identify and fix usability issues from ethnographic observation. A solid understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
