Embedded Software Engineer (Shanghai)

Your role as an Embedded Software Engineer at Xsens

As an Embedded Software Engineer you will be responsible for developing firmware for our sensor modules for related interfacing and communication peripherals. You aid in the development of our mobile APIs making device functionality accessible to the end user. For all your work, you provide unit tests and clear documentation. Together with product management, you help translate their product requirements into workable solutions and give estimates on the implementation effort. You will be working together with an Agile/Scrum team on developing new products and improving existing products You assist in the hardware design process ensuring the hardware functionality is accessible by the firmware in a practical and efficient manner. We deliver robust devices with best-in-class performance. The focus is always on quality to give our customers a smooth user experience.

You will be part of the engineering team and report to the Engineering Director. You will be based in Shanghai.

Your skills and experience

Xsens is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Embedded Software Engineer. Someone who thrives in an environment where your can-do attitude and creative approach to problem solving is highly appreciated. You have:

·         Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field

·         5+ years of work experience as an Embedded Software Engineer in related fields

·         Excellent knowledge of C++ and C

·         Experience doing embedded development using tools like GCC, IAR Embedded Workbench or Keil μVision

·         Experience with wireless IoT Network Protocols; Bluetooth, BLE

·         Good understanding of hardware protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, and USB

·         Low level programming experience with Microcontrollers

·         Capable of reading hardware schematics especially w.r.t. digital electronics

·         Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M and Cortex-A architectures

·         Result driven, and Conscientious

·         High proficiency in Mandarin, good written/verbal communication skills in English

·         Knowledge of IP, Ethernet and Wifi is a plus

·         Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio is a plus

·         Team player, but also capable to work independently

·         Willing to work on-site in Jiading, Shanghai
