Job Title: SSD Firmware Engineer

 

General Summary

        DellEMC PSE(Platform and System Engineering) organization provides innovative platforms, systems, and technology solutions to DellEMC products enabling industry leading storage and converged infrastructure offerings to our customers.

       SSD group is a fast growing team under PSE, which focuses on delivering DellEMC internal, storage-platform-specific, innovative enterprise SSDs. The candidate will have opportunity to:

·       Work on SSD product portfolio resolving industry leading storage challenges which is continuously invested by company

·       Work in a global environment, with experts from cross functional teams, BUs, vendor and partners to gain knowledge from device to system level

·       Project operated in Agile/Scrum model; Use industry best practice on methodology and process

 

 Key Responsibilities

    As the SSD Firmware Engineer, you will develop firmware that controls the functioning of high performance, enterprise grade, purpose built SSDs. You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams like media characterization, hardware engineering, firmware test engineering, FA, QA and manufacturing to get the product released in a timely manner.

 

Role Responsibilities

·       Design and develop firmware for SSD product.

·       Design and develop manufacturing diagnostics tool for SSD product.

·       Debug, optimize, and validate SSD firmware on embedded multi-core architectures.

·       Support FW qualification and adopting of SSD storage products, resolve issue, optimization and provide solution or workarounds.

 

Essential Requirements

·       Extensive C programming experience in embedded system development 

·       Knowledge in embedded systems and hands-on experiences in developing micro-controller firmware

·       Familiarity with debug tools, eg. Protocol analyzer/Scope/JTAG will be a plus.

• Familiarity      with SSD drive technologies is a plus

·       Experience with ARM architecture and development on it is a plus

·       Strong communication skills,  oral and written English

·       Be able to work efficiently in a global team

·       BS, MS in CS, EE or relevant field
