SAI-MedPartners is a global consultancy serving the Pharmaceutical, Bio-Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industries.
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Specialist to help us expand our clientele in South Korea Market, who will be working as a key member of marketing/business development (BD) team in Asia and to support the execution of the company’s business activities and development in S. Korea (as top priority) and Asia (second priority).
Responsibilities:
- Geographic area of priority responsibility is South Korea. The candidate will play a leading role in supporting the business development for South Korea market with his/her responsibilities including:
- Business development:
- Business opportunity scouting
- Conduct research on potential client accounts to identify the target company’s key business units, decision makers and to construct decision maker map.
- Conduct research on hot events and issues impacting or occurring in target potential client companies to identify potential sales leads (persons or opportunities) so to assist development of sales pitch and to promote SAI’s services
- Business development activities support
- Contact key personnel at the potential client accounts to confirm decision makers of using SAI’s services, arrange meetings and help set up meeting and contacts for SAI’s representative in S. Korea.
- It is important to update SAI’s representative in S. Korea the meetings/activities that have been set up and seek timely guidance.
- Prepare sales documentation under supervision of senior management including
- Company introduction
- Sanitized sample report
- Other documents required by the client
- Keep track of the required follow up frequency of key decision makers at new and existing client accounts. Drive the process to ensure it is a continual process
- Support SAI’s regional and global new marketing initiatives.
- Knowledge management
- Keep records of all sales calls, contact lists, clients’ satisfaction (after sales), etc.
- Proposal development support:
- Stay on top of RFPs that come in and alert senior management to make sure Executives (President, EVP, VP) are aware of the RFPs that come in and assign RFP to proper managers to develop proposals
- Coordinate with internal desk-research experts, project teams and senior management to obtain proper input for proposal draft
- Develop proposal framework (draft) which normally includes routine components except parts that are developed by senior managers
- Ensure all RFPs are attended timely by senior managers or executives and proposals are sent to the client timely without delay

- Aside from South Korea market as a priority, the candidate will play a supporting role assisting Asia HQ’s BD team to carry out the responsibilities as specified in 1 (a) and (b) under the guidance of Executives (President, EVP, VP) and the head of BD team
Requirement:
- Native level of South Korean language skill both in speaking and writing
- English skill needs to be at business level in both speaking and writing (Chinese capability as a plus but not a deal breaker)
- Need advanced level score of recent language test
- TOEFL iBT (no lower than 70) or
- TOEIC (no lower than 800)
- or IELTS (no lower than 6)
- >3 years’ experience in proactive marketing / sales / business development roles in companies of professional services (law firms, personal banking investment) technologies, engineering, chemical, pharmaceutical (e.g. MR), medical device, pharmaceutical distribution, and other relevant area
- BA/BS degree or higher educational background with high score
- Strong logical thinking
- Proactive sales and marketing mind
- Proactive problem-solving capabilities and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Very high skill of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and so on.
The candidate can be a native Korean with strong English capabilities, a Chinese, whose Korean is native level and is strong in English, or other nationality with native level of Korean and business English level capabilities.
