SCIENCE LAB ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Preparation of laboratory practicals, including set-up and breakdown as per teachers’ instruction, testing such labs and equipment beforehand so as to ensure a successful learning experience

? Maintenance, cleaning, and storage of equipment

? Safe storage and removal of harmful chemicals and equipment

? Ensure adequate supply of equipment and materials is always available

? Keep track of materials borrowed by teachers and students

? Assisting the teacher in supervision of laboratory practicals when needed

TEACHING ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists students and teachers in science class, such as translation to promote knowledge understanding. 
   
2. Communicate with faculty proactively and positively 
   
3. Fill in for teachers when absent 
   
4. Assist in maintaining classroom bulletin boards
   
5. Attend team meetings and professional development as necessary

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

? Knowledge of current lab safety regulations, especially thosefor the chemistry laboratory. 

? Prior experience working in a science laboratory.

? Ability to manage a science laboratory and relevant chemicals & equipment. 

? Ability to work individually and as a part of a team

? Experience working with children, preferably in a school environment

? Good interpersonal and communication skills (especially in English)

? Organized, reliable, dependable, works well independently
