Job Summary

Responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers, designers and drafters in the design of sheet metal products and custom metal equipment used in the foodservice industry.

Job Responsibilities:

1.       Coordinate activities of China engineering team with the U.S. based engineering teams. Reports directly to U.S. Engineering Manager.

2.       Establish China engineering department policies, procedures and standards. Coordinate and align standards with U.S. engineering team.

3.       Lead the engineering team in the product development and project management to fulfill customers’ needs. Collaborate with U.S. based engineering team to complete projects. Responsible for team activities from NPI (New Product Implementation) to production.

4.       Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Highly organized and ability to coordinate multiple projects. Able to plan work to provide estimates of projects milestones and completion dates. Able to understand and communicate project schedules and capacity of engineering team to complete new projects. Able to oversee the risks and find the solutions.

5.         Working with the marketing & product team and selects correct design concepts and new products category development plan.

6.       Quality Control Analysis – Understanding of quality control methodology for products and processes and possess the ability to determine root cause analysis.

7.       Identify areas of improvement and a possess a desire to challenge current process and implement change. Identify gaps in engineering team knowledge and skills, and implement plans to develop team members.

8.         Strategic planning for future technology improvement and resources set-up.

9.       Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates – Ability to communicate in English with U.S. based engineering team via email and phone. Travel to U.S. one to two times per year.   

10.   Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships -- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with the China engineering and production teams, and maintain them over time. Getting members of a group to work together to accomplish projects.

 

 

Qualifications:

1.         BS University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering;

2.         Strong in Solidworks & AutoCAD;

3.         Prior experience with a U.S. based manufacturer is highly desirable.

4.         Prior experience in metalworking industry, preferably with complex sheet metal designs, is desirable but not required.

5.         Seven to 10 years recent experience, 5 years managing a team of engineers.  

6.         Fluent in reading, writing & speaking in English;

7.         Excellent skills in communication and result-orientation, and decision making
