Key tasks:

?             Prepare pre-sales design assets and other bespoke design work in local language to support B2B sales and marketing activities

?             Design page layouts for branded content and custom publishing projects (advertising pages inbound in Nature and/or reprints) generated by the China MRS commercial sales team

?             Design creative (print/digital) based upon briefs/Nature Research branding guidelines for client paid campaigns

?             Work with project delivery/custom media teams to keep track of each production schedule and be aware of deadlines

?             Develop and maintain layouts for bespoke content pages for print copies of Nature China edition

?             Maintain and improve the design, print quality and cost efficiency for all products, optimise commercial design delivery workflows to ensure an efficient timely design service

?             Oversee Nature Research branding within company guidelines, inform necessary departments to ensure its consistent use across all materials, be the go-to resource for our branding expertise in China

?             Contribute to the overall plan of brand development in China by developing and managing brand and visual identity for Nature/Nature Research and imprints in Chinese

?             Ensure that all images and messages appropriately contribute to brand identify for MRS sales, marketing and customer development initiatives

?             Develop ideas and design creative  for branded premiums, promotional gifts, collateral, presentations & reporting

?             Management responsibility for design freelancers

?             Manage third party vendors and contractors, monitor expenses as needed

?             Keep informed of developments in design programs such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, initiatives and knowledge in the Online design arena

?             Provide design support to all other central divisions across  Springer Nature in China (Comms, HR, Admin) when required

?             Global MRS Commercial Marketing & Operations team 

?             Local/global Custom Media teams

?             Local/global Marketing Services team

?             Local/global Communications/Brand team

?             Local/global PPG/UX design team

?             3rd Party vendors (e.g. external printers, webcast, video producing companies)  

Need to know

Qualifications:

?             Education to degree level  in Marketing/Graphic Design/Business Managment

?             Interest in scientific content is preferable and a proven track record in scientific publishing is a real plus

Skills/knowledge:

?             Creative skill that turns visualization into comprehensive design

?             Extensive knowledge and experience of print and digital design

?             Fluency in design software such as InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator etc. with some experience of HTML preferable

?             Strong communication skills and experience of working across multiple departments

?             Have a high level understanding of English

?             Strong ability to self-organize, prioritize, multitask and work under pressure and extra hours if needed on assignment

?             Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

?             Willingness to travel

?             Ability to work independently and as part of a team

?             Be willing to facilitate change and solve problems quickly

Experience:

?             Experience of working within the field of graphic design/design development work for at least 5 years

?             Publishing,media,advertising or agency background
