职位描述

1.Product testing, methodology, instruments and CRO management

Evaluate the skin product performance by means of equipment to support product claim substantiation and formula screening. Independently facilitate the all equipment operation, take the lead in test protocol design, technical report composing, organizing and executing relevant field work.

Excellent innovation capability is necessary, independently research on the new evaluation method according to the objective and work out the detailed test SOP or protocol.

Independently management project from R&D (Dev, Prototyping, ODM Scouting) including rationalize study objective, protocol design, test planning (internal or external resource) on timing & budget, test data and analysis, debriefing/report and archiving.

Work closely with the agencies on external testing, developing and providing scientific supports as needed, working out the testing protocol and following up the studies.

Understand global and local testing scientific contents to research new relevant methodology. The strategic thinking on methodology development is preferred.

2.Implementation of Special Efficacy Tests

The possessor of this job position implements special tests on products & formulas in agreement with the superior laboratory leader according to the schedules and project timings. Tests, which are indispensable yet cannot be implemented in their own fields, will be planned and initiated on behalf of, for example, microbiology, R&D-services and so on.

He/ She is also responsible for new clinical and instrumental evaluation methodology development for new unmet needs from R&D teams.

He/ She constantly compares his/her own work techniques with those of other labs and points out to his/her superior necessary adjustments or refinements to the applied lab protocols. He/ She is responsible for on-going maintenance of the test methods in terms of further standardization and optimization potentials.

The job holder also implements testing of the samples from prototyping lab and formula development labs, coordinating the test through working closely with BDF global testing, formula development labs, countries regulatory affairs and external agencies to ensure product testing for claim supporting and registration are conducted in scientifically sound and regulatory compliant way.

3.Development of Testing Methods (including Demo Generation)

He/she is responsible for the continuous maintenance of testing methods related to further potential of standardization and optimization in coordination with the team leader, if necessary, indispensable adaption and refinement of the applied protocol in trial.

In coordination with the superior, he/ she is responsible for the evaluation, development and introduction of new test methods and further development of current methods, including the establishment of corresponding analyzing/ studying regulations and implementation of global SOP.

4.Development in Knowledge

The possessor of this job position shall obtain states of art knowledge by studying scientific literatures with own initiatives and participating scientific conferences with summarized findings and outputs on relevant domain, further being beneficial to daily work. Exploring new technologies and new raw material alternatives. Doing market visits, store checks, attending consumer researches to understand consumers, competitors and market developments. The updates shall be done according to the latest development of BDF strategy and equally market, scientific-technological developments.

Especially keep close eye with the new regulation on cosmetics in China and judge on the impact or engagement from our side with authorities.

5.Results Evaluation & Documentation

The possessor of this job position is responsible for a scientifically correct documentation and reporting of his/her results. The documentation shall be made continuously throughout the projects with the latest information available normally as written reports or, if necessary, as English presentations in internal meetings with cooperating expert departments in R & D, Brands and/or Supply Chain.

Requiring to wrap up all the clinical data in the basis of different skin attributes as database and further explore the feasibility of further data mining on these data to generate more insights and knowledge for claim relevant support.

6.Laboratory Maintenance & Safety

The possessor of this job position shall be responsible in his/her working field for the safety of the necessary laboratory facilities and, if necessary, inform the superior about indispensable measures. He/ She is in charge of maintenance, occupational health and safety, as well as personal protection measures in consultation with his/her superior. He/ She shall regularly keep up to date on the current regulations and guidelines and be responsible for the implementations thereof.

He/she is also responsible for basic maintenance of testing laboratory and ensue all the equipment’s in good condition, ready for testing or demo purpose.

If necessary, monthly-based lab inspection with team leader to rule out potential safety risk and ensure the working place in good condition.

7.Interfaces 

The possessor of this job position supervises interfaces to Product Development Service, Testing and Analytical lab and Sensory lab, marketing, formula development labs, country RAOs, and global product testing and claim strategy team. He/she takes responsibility in the exchange of information regarding projects with coworkers from cooperating professional units.

Qualifications:

·       Master Degree(natural sciences, e.g. chemistry, biology, physics, medicine, pharmacy, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering etc.) with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience or Bachelor degree with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience

·       Experiences on clinical test or claim support in Testing Institute or R&D of personal care or pharmaceutical industries is expected

·       Fluent written and spoken English

·       Familiarity in MS-Office

·       Self-motivated, good team work spirit.

·       Excellent communication skill on clinical result interpretation or different interfaces on expectation management.

·       Candidate with character of scientific thinking, clinical knowledge on skin, diligent and working friendly, preferred
