Responsibilities:

· Provides technical assistance on products to partners/customers of medium to large size, scope, and/or political complexity - via phone, email and/or remote access.

· Performs advanced problem analysis and isolates problems of moderate to high complexity, with little instruction from team leads and/or management.

· Achieves and maintains targeted call statistics such as number of calls answered, number of cases closed or issues resolved, along with other established goals.

· Publishes articles on moderately complex technical support issues online knowledgebase, and reviews others' articles

· Documents cases, recommendations, and resolutions clearly in the CRM system, takes ownership of hot and/or more political cases escalated from less senior engineers.



Qualifications:

· Key technical interface to 3rd level engineering and product development for the resolution of high impact or pervasive issues.

· Develop and deliver technical training to other engineers.

· Write complex technical articles and sample code for the knowledge base.

· Systems Administration experience in a Linux environment

· Solid knowledge of the latest Server, Storage; Networking technologies and communication Protocols

· A strong understanding of Linux/Unix (LVM, NFS, Open iSCSI, Iptables, Cron, udev, building drivers/modules from sources)

· A strong understanding of virtualization concept (XenServer, KVM, OpenStack, VMware, VirtualBox)

· Experience with NAS/SAN technologies and protocols (iscsi, fibre channel, nfs, cifs)

· Various scripting languages (Shell, Python, Perl, etc.)

· Intermediate understanding of MYSQL

· A strong understanding of networking

· Cisco CCNA a Plus, RHCE certification desirable

· IP addressing and subneting, NAT concept, VLANs, Routing and Switching fundamentals, The TCP/IP and OSI models, LAN/WAN technologies

· Basic knowledge of Windows Operating System

· A basic to intermediate understanding of Windows 2003/2008 server

· Must be willing to travel
