Job Requirements:

• English major with a bachelor's degree; Exceptional written and spoken English.
• Qualified as translator with at least 1 year work experience.
• Strong communication skills: clear and concise. 
• Ability to work and communicate with people with different academic backgrounds.
• Proficient at typing and using Microsoft Office software.
• Confidence and ability to work within a team or independently.
• Ability to multi-task and work under high-pressure scenarios.
• Willing to work outside in extreme climate conditions (and can tolerate insects) or in an office environment.
• Ability to perform self-directed study to learn new vocabulary relating to this specialized area of work.
• Domestic travel for month-long durations.
• A strong team player. Ability to work closely with other two translators and listen to their suggestions when needed.
• Ability to understand Sichuan dialect.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting foreign staff in communicating with the local staff through radio, in meetings, in person or via e-mail.
• Liaising with other departments (Financial, Human Resources and Maintenance).
• Written translation – weekly reports, protocols & procedures, meeting minutes, staff training documents.
• Oral translation – meetings, appraisals, warnings, conferences/presentations and interviews.
• Responsible for maintaining and improving electronic databases.
• Performing other jobs as required by line managers.
• Working shifts including some night time/weekend duty. Responsible to be available and oncall over weekends or out of working hours during emergency situations or if requested in advance.

• Flexible work schedule.
• Already have an understanding of animal welfare issues and interest in animal husbandry.
• l Experience with veterinary terminology and vocabulary.
