Purpose of the job
Is responsible for the systematic management of health and safety matters and for developing them in UPM China site and offices. Is responsible for the cooperation in the security and health, safety within the unit and for its development. Acts as the contact person of the paper unit towards the public authorities. Follows up the developments of the legislation, regulations and instructions within his/her area of responsibility and make proposal how to response them to the line organisation. Plan together with line organization continuous OHS training to the UPM employees. Leading people based on UPM values and value behaviours.

1.Bring OHS professionalism to the line organisation in health, safety, security matters and drive organization towards interdependent OHS practices.

Prerequisites
? Bachelor degree, Major in safety engineering preferred. Gain certified safety engineer certificate preferred.
? Over 5 years experiences in safety field, in which at least 3 years must be in MNC.
? Good English, both oral and written.

THE POSITION

The EHS & Compliance Manager will be report to the Director Operations Suzhou.


PURPOSE OF POSITION

Manage all EHS & Compliance related activities for the Suzhou Factory. Manage all Product Certification & Compliance activity for Cable Products in the APAC region. Manage coordination with other locations & external consultants to ensure complete compliance to Policies, Local Statutory needs & product / process certification.

DIMENSION

The position will start as an individual contributor but has the potential to grow with the organization, based on individual performance and business results.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Lead and manage the various ISO certifications for the Suzhou factory. Conduct internal audits & drive corrective & preventive actions as necessary. Manage the 3rd party audits.

Lead & Ensure complete statutory compliance for the Suzhou factory as per local policies & regulations. Conduct periodic internal audits and drive corrective & preventive actions as necessary.

Lead & Ensure compliance to the policies and ensure timely reporting.
Collaborate with R&D teams as needed to monitor international standard and regulation development, especially RoHS, REACH, EICC etc to ensure products selling in Asia conform to the latest regulatory requirements.

Conduct internal training for EHS & Compliance.
Capable of complying with Company Attendance Policy & performs all other duties as assigned.


THE PERSON

Experience

The ideal candidate will have a relevant working experience of atleast 8-10 years with relevant certifications in EHS & Compliance.

Experience in managing ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 certification including audits. Qualified internal auditor is preferred. Proven experience in certifications like RoHS, REACH and EICC. Experience of leading the EHS compliance of a factory.

Good written & spoken English skill is necessary as this position needs to communicate with multiple other regions.

Prior working experience in a Wire & Cable factory is preferred.

LOCATION

The position is based in Suzhou. A candidate willing to do daily commute to Suzhou or living for the work days in Suzhou is acceptable.
