- For our Corporate Technology (CT) in Shanghai, Siemens is looking for a Project Engineer.

What are my responsibilities?
- The primary responsibility will be to lead Integrated Product Team (IPT) projects to develop gas turbine casing components. Responsibilities include participation in the following major component development phases; (i) conceptual development (ii) prototype development, manufacturing & testing (iii) basic design & analysis (iv) detailed design & analysis (v) manufacturing development & qualification (vi) engine testing & validation.
- Other responsibilities will be to supervise and develop casing group team members. These responsibilities include (i) participation in determining team members’ objectives (ii) participation in tracking team members’ progress against established objectives, and (iii) coaching and mentoring of junior members of the casing group.

Tasks
- As part of the above responsibilities, the candidate will:
- Manage the technical aspects of the projects
- Manage budget, schedule and milestones for the projects
- Provide input to resource plan requirements for the projects
- Participate in budget negotiations for the projects
- Direct, supervise and coach people on the projects
- Conduct internal and external project status meeting presentations
- Coordinate tasks and requirements with other departments, outsourcing companies and external vendors & test facilities

The preferred candidate should:
- Have demonstrated detail-oriented and innovative thinking mindset
- Have ability to drive a team through tough technical challenges
- Have strong background in design and analysis of components for turbo-machinery applications or similar applications
- Have good understanding of gas turbine fundamentals
- Have demonstrated project management skills
- Have good verbal and written communications skills, including good presentation skills
- Have good people skills

What do I need to qualify for this job?
Education
- Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. Certification may be required in some areas.

Knowledge& Experiences
- Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
- Demonstrates significant knowledge of organizations business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues.
- Typically 8-10 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
- Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.

Additional capabilities
- Provide specialized guidance or train support and/or professional staff. Leadership qualities and role model qualities demonstrated.
- Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contacts.
