Job Description

One of the components of the Global Engineering Services (GES) charter is to develop diagnostic solutions for hp products. We are currently leading a pan-HP development effort to provide Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) based diagnostics for the factory and the field to validate hp products. GES is now hiring a Senior Systems/Software Engineer to help us deliver on these commitments.

This position will be part of a geographically diverse team responsible for delivering UEFI diagnostics to be used in production and released with hp's notebook, desktop, workstation, and laser jet printer products. As a senior developer on this team, you will be responsible for designing and developing diagnostic tests to address major computer subsystems (e.g. processors, memory, hard disk drives, motherboards), establishing an architecture that is flexible to serve a wide range of products, and trouble shooting product anomalies. The prospective candidates have extensive experience with writing diagnostic software, software development and debug tools, and computer architecture. We are looking for highly motivated individuals.

Qualifications

Fluent in spoken and written Chinese and English

Masters or Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

2+ years low level or embedded systems software development in computer industry

Demonstrated proficiency in the C/C++ programming language

Experience designing and developing large software applications

Extensive knowledge of computer architecture - x86, x64, and IPF

Experience with software development tools, debuggers, source control, code analyzers

Experience with developing UEFI applications or firmware would be beneficial

Experience developing Windows and Linux applications would be beneficial

Experience with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes would be beneficial

Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills
