INTERNAL & DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Job Description:
- To develop simple, effective internal communications so our people hear from us first about what's happening in the business and feel proud to work for Tesco.
- To deliver key stakeholder's communications via digital platforms that supports and protects the business and create opportunities to raise awareness of the benefits Tesco brings to my country.
- I support my team to deliver service and/or manage other resources to deliver service using analysis and judgement.
I spend:
30% of my time delivering and evaluating our proactive digital communications plans and ensuring it is aligned with business priorities
10% of my time maintaining intelligence links and monitoring processes to identify and prepare suitable responses for potential issues that may affect the business
10% of my time building internal networks, coaching and supporting others
30% of my time of researching, writing and gaining approval for all internal communications materials, including corporate publications and the internet, on a daily basis
15% of my time managing the successful delivery of the corporate events calendar
5% Undertake any other duties assigned by the line manager
I know I've done a great job if:
- I successfully implement great digital communications programme which project Tesco nicely in China
- I work in a joined up way with Marketing and other areas of the business to communicate effectively to customers.
- I proactively help the company directors and its officers to be well-prepared for any issues that may arise and there are no surprises.
- I deliver consistent messages across the business.
- I escalate issues to Group International Corporate Affairs when appropriate and feed through proactive PR opportunities.
- Staff hear from us first
- I send out clear communication to all employees so that they are able to understand and discuss key messages with colleagues and customers with confidence.
- Managers consult me before communicating with staff because they value my input.
- I produce internal publications and events that are seen as professionally produced and are interesting
Job Requirements:
Media Business awareness
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Media relations experience
Excellent working knowledge of the media contacts within the industry
Significant experience in a large organisation of internal communications
Sound judgement
