POSITION DESCRIPTION
Executes strategies and tactics to effectively source electrical components, assemblies and equipment from Low Cost Countries
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Accountabilities:
- Creates sourcing plans that secure supply and minimize supply chain disruptions, in accordance with Category sourcing strategies
- Develops action plans, timelines and resource assignments for sourcing projects
- Effectively locate and screen potential suppliers
- Leads the RFI/Q/P (Request for Information/Quotation/information/Proposal) and bidding processes
- Participate supplier qualification and selection processes; Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers in order to meet specified quality, delivery and cost objectives
- Facilitates contract execution to ensure on-time delivery and follow up Suppliers Non-conformance Report
Specific deliverables of the position:
- Sourcing plans
- Effective supplier base including lead time, quality and cost improvements.
- Market intelligence of the relevant categories.
Key Performance Indicators:
- $ Cost Savings
- % Managed Spend
- % LCC Sourcing
- Numbers of Approved Suppliers.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Supply Chain, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing.
- 8 years’ experience in sourcing, ideally in mining industry
