SUMMARY:

1.    Provide and document direct and indirect patient care services that delivered at the multidisciplinary clinic, infusion or the radiation oncology service.

2.    Provide patient centric care and patient education on disease prevention, symptom management and treatment intervention.

3.    Contribute to the overall patient satisfaction by improving clinic flow, decrease waiting time, respond promptly to patient needs, as well as to ensure patient care quality and safety for infusion and radiation therapies.

4.    Contribute to the vision, mission and values of the Jiahui by modeling professional behavior, motivating colleagues and delivering quality results

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

1.    Collaborate with physicians and other health care providers to delivery patient centric services in the cancer center.

2.    Triage patient needs and follow through accordingly.

3.    Rooming patient timely and manage the flow of clinic to meet patient and physician’s expectations.  

4.    Assess and evaluation of patients during each encounter and communicate to physician immediately with alarm findings or concerns.

5.    Identify and assess patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations. Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patients.

6.    Document accurately and timely with care delivered to patients and its outcome.

7.    Prepare and assist patient for clinical procedure, obtaining consent form and performing time-out. Assuring specimen integrity, log in samples and keeping log book complete.

8.    Adhere to institution standard to delivery infusion related treatment safely.

9.    Management of cancer treatment related symptoms and care coordination.

10.  Follow up with patient if needed to ensure continuity of care and treatment plan compliance.

11.  Providing education and educational handouts to patients regarding disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation process.

12.  Competent to operate/use patient care related equipment and supplies.  

13.  Willing to learn and become competent in all aspect of services provided in the Cancer center.

14.  Other duties as assigned.

1.    Provide guidance and orientation to new staff assigned to the unit, once competent in the assigned area.

2.    Demonstrate awareness of current nursing and health care practices.

3.    Reasoning ability – makes effective decisions and identifies and resolves problems in a timely fashion.

4.    Safety – demonstrates and provides commitment to both environmental and patient safety.

5.    Continue to update knowledge in cancer and cancer treatment options.

6.    Assist team and team leader to provide the highest standard of patient-centric care.

7.    Contribute to the team success by take initiatives in both RN-MD team and the cancer center projects.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

1.    Bachelor’s degree or above in nursing with valid Chinese nursing license.

2.    At least 3-5 years of working experiences with minimal 1-3 years of experiences in oncology/hematology related filed.

3.    International experience preferred but not necessary.

4.    English fluency preferred but not necessary.
