Our Exciting OpportunityAbout PDU Radio
Product Development Unit Radio (PDU Radio) drives the end-to-end research and development of Ericsson’s radio products and solutions. We are a global organization within Development Unit Networks (DNEW) of approximately 3,000 engineers and developers collaborating across nine sites in Canada, China and Sweden to drive Ericsson’s strategy of securing our ongoing market leadership in radio, taking a leadership position in 5G.
About Common Radio Modules
Common Radio Modules focuses on enabling fast introduction of common key technologies and driving common solutions, modularization and reuse work to the next level. It includes global teams working on software development, algorithm development, digital and mixed signals, and production test development.
The Common Radio Module (CRM) sector with PDU Radio is establishing a global presence for the Digital Mixed Signal (DMS) processing responsibility in Beijing with a dedicated section for radio System-on-Chip (SoC) systemization and digital design work.
The radio SoC systemization responsibility is part of the global efforts in terms of radio requirement management for radio ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits), FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array). The radio System-on-Chip (SoC) is the heart of the Ericsson radio units, which are part of Ericsson’s 2G, 3G, 4G and 5 G base stations. The focus area of the organization unit is the systemization of radio features and radio functionalities which are to be implemented on System-on-Chips.
The radio digital design responsibility is part of global efforts for radio hardware design of the Digital Front End (DFE), including channel filtering, radio signal in downlink and uplink features, such as DSP(Digital Signal Processing), DPD(Digital Pre-Distortion), PIMC(Passive Inter-Modulation Cancellation), AGC(Automatic Gain Control), etc.
You will
- Establish and handle the local team in Beijing for radio SoC systemization and digital design
- Closely cooperate with the global CRM DMS management in terms of driving systemization of radio unit’s functionalities, features, interfaces, configuration capabilities and subsystems. which are to be implemented in ASIC/FPGAs function blocks
- Closely cooperate with the global CRM DMS management in terms of radio digital design within radio DFEs including channel filtering, radio signal in downlink and uplink features, such as DSP, DPD, PIMC, AGC, etc.
- Manage the participation and drive technical analysis studies and pre-development in the SoC areas including systemization and design part
- Contribute and deliver vital requirements in form of requirement specifications for radio ASICs and FPGAs design and implementation.
- Support to design team during development, verification, and validation of the design.
- Continuously improve and optimize ways of working
To be successful in the role you must have
- Master of Science, Ph.D., Post Doc or similar degrees in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or Computer Science
- Proficiency within the field of signal processing, telecommunication systems and radio technology
- Managerial experience and leadership competence in systemization knowledge of combined hardware, firmware, middleware and software domains
- Radio development experience in requirement setting and design for GSM, WCDMA, LTE and NR.
- The following proven experience in radio design are preferred: DPD (Digital Pre-Distortion), PIMC (Passive Inter-Modulation Cancellation), DAC/ADC (Digital-Analog Converter/Analog-Digital Converter) and ORAN (Open Radio Access Network)
- Knowledge in embedded systems, system-on-chip, ASIC, FPGA
- Sophisticated proficiency level of English language, language knowledge in Swedish or Chinese is beneficial.
