Responsibilities:
•Design and develop technology solutions, including evaluation of promising technologies and development of evaluation criteria.
•Work with vendors, architecture, operations and solution owners managing the Proof of Concept and testing scenarios.
•Perform configuration, application integration, functional specifications and development tasks for technology solution and services, including first implementation of the designed solutions.
•Develop best practices for technology solution for reuse across the compute environment.
•Ensure efforts and solutions align and adhere to the organization’s Technical Architecture Framework (TAF) policies, standards and direction as well as Solution Owner requirements.
•Ensure proper training of support teams on the technology solution.
•Stay abreast of operational difficulties and issues; work with support team staff to provide escalation support. Provide level 3 support.
•Document and optimize technology solution environment as required.
•Ensure Quality standards as per company specifications are followed.
•Required to travel extensively and work outside standard office hours including weekends and holidays. Required to be on call.
Requirements:
• General skills
Expert level ability to design, configure, deploy, maintain and provide escalation support for technology solution.
Configuration, implementation and operational knowledge of a wide variety of applications and protocols associated with technology solution (operating systems, management tools, security, network, etc.).
Excellent customer orientation and delivery focus with good end user perspective.
Outstanding customer engagement and presentation skills with the ability to communicate across all levels (senior and\/or large audiences).
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with team members and virtual teams (Operations, Solution owners, etc.).
Ability to function independently with no supervision.
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English is a must, additional languages is a plus)
Proven project and time management skills.
•Specific Technology Domain Skills (Demonstrable knowledge in required technology area).
LAN, WAN, WLAN.
WAN acceleration.
Proxy and reverse proxy technologies.
Routing protocols.
Internet and “end point” connectivity.
Remote access SSL VPN.
Server Load Balancing.
Voice and Network, Audio, Video and Web Conferencing, VoWLAN.
Applied security.
Expert Certification in several areas of expertise of the domain is a must.
•Mandatory Education and Experience
Bachelor degree in informatics or equivalent work experience.
Fluent and able to negotiate and present in English.
More than eight years of experience in the relevant fields for the team the work is being develop into.
Experience with complex design and deployment projects.
Experience at similar size installations for multinational environments.
Level of independence required in determining methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.
ITIL certification.
Project management skills or experience.
Managerial and influence\/negotiation skills.
•Asset education and experience
German, Chinese Mandarin and Spanish language skills.
Project management certification.
Senior certification in the relevant technologies for the team the work is being developed into.
