Business impact of this role: 

? Secure procurement early involvement of product development in value creation chain

? Ensure new product launch on time, on cost and on spec.

? 10% spend increased yearly by dedicated NPD project support to regio3ns 

Business/Work Complexity: 

? Work with the project buyers or leader buyers in regions, responsible for the procurement activities in China, leading the projects developed through the entire processes from RFQ till product launch or production ramp up done

? Interface with multi-departments (Project Mgmt., Design, R&D, TQ, plant, SCM) to ensure project’s smooth development with permanent focuses on cost and timing

? Closely follow up on the RFQ status, conduct negotiations on pricing, timing with the suppliers and assisting the technical discussion among R&D, SQE and suppliers. Make recommendation on the final candidate based on the facts of costing level, timing commitment and feasibility

? Develop project plan, monitor the development of tooling and ensure samples’ on time submission. Coordinate the proper type and schedule of samples’ qualification, ensure the production release will be given in accordance with the timing and quality requirement based on actual project status

? Monitor the ordering and production progress on the 1st qty, take appropriate actions to accomplish the deliveries within the requirements of timing, quality and quantity

? Review the forecast and the suppliers’ capacity, work out the production plan with the suppliers to ensure a quick and safety ramp up

? Work with the plants and logistic team, to ensure sufficient supply and proper building up of the safety stock

? Keep Project manager informed of all critical issues, recommend corrective actions, follow up the progress until issues are resolved

Decision Making: 

? Provide quotation analysis, and potential supplier for the project to the team

? Trouble shooting and provide solution to supplier for project related issues, escalating problem to next level for quick responsiveness and resolvent

? Escalation point in China for the in charge project development

? Strong time management and planning skills required to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changes in business requirements in a fast-paced environment

? Good communication and negotiation skill are required

? Strong inter-personal skills with ability to work with all levels of parties from internal and external

? SAP knowledge is a plus.

? Good understanding of diversified production processes, e.g. machining, Zinc die-casting, brass casting, stamping, plastic injection and surface treatment

? Experience in VAVE is preferable

? Fluent in both oral and written English, good PC skills, e.g. Excel, Outlook, PPT

Education requirement

? Bachelor degree or above, with major in business /Engineering or related.

? Minimum 8 years working experience in MNC acting as a project procurement manager or project buyer
