As a Technical Support Specialist, he/she will represent IA Process Control Platform (***) Organization to delivers high quality and efficient after sales support services to ABB internal customers (local business units in different countries) within north Asia region (China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, etc.) or even global, the internal industry BUs include oil and gas, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, power, pulp and paper, metals, cement, minerals, marine and ports.
IAPCP Support line is a global organization located in China, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Singapore, India, Japan and the United States.

- Will be having the highest level (Level3) of technical escalation for the internal Business Units/customers for the whole portfolio of automation products, handling escalations from tier 1 & 2 technical support teams from different countries.
- Providing technical expertise in DCS and PLC products (system 800XA, system Freelance and Symphony Plus, etc.) and giving technical guidance during FAT, SAT, Product testing, field testing, deployment and operational phases for ABB Customers across the Globe.
- Managing critical customer issues and facilitating communication between Business Units and Development teams.
- Be a customer advocate for timely resolution of issues and for problem reproduction and escalation. Documenting and reproducing customer related problems.
- Attending gate meetings based on the R&D activities where L3 support team is involved.
- Working with external partners, vendors, and customers to document and distributing FAQs for knowledge transfer and consistently accurate resolutions.
- The role also requires the engineer to be travelling to site on need basis (probably 10% of time) for consulting, training, upgrade, onsite trouble-shooting activities.
- Identifying key improvement opportunities in products, services and processes and sharing findings to the product/system Local Business Units for improvement of ABB offerings.

- Must have Bachelor’s degree or above in automation, instrumentation, electrical or electronics.
- 2~8 years of DCS or PLC experience is needed for technical specialist position, engineering or technical support experience on 800XA, Freelance and Symphony Plus is preferable.
- Good communication skills, problem solving skills, initiative and teamwork spirit.
- Fluent English speaking and writing is a must as technical specialist mainly works with global colleagues in Europe and America.
- Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
