The company is a NASDAQ listed company that designs and manufactures products for optical communications networks, communications test and measurement equipment, lasers, optical solutions for authentication and decorative applications, and other custom optics. It is headquartered in Milpitas, California in the United States. It operates in more than 160 countries, with over 5, 000 employees, by the year of 2011 its total revenue accounts for US$ 1.8 billion.
Position Title: Financial Controller China
Reporting Line: APAC Financial Controller,
Subordinates: 4-6
Location: Beijing (Wang-Jing Area)
Responsibility:
-Primary responsibility as Business Controllership function for China Operations
-Responsible for monthly, quarterly and yearly finance closing in accordance to local China Accounting Standards (China GAAP)
-Responsible for Tax and Compliance matters, including annual business license renewals and statutory audits for various entities in China,
-Directly overseeing 2 manufacturing plants' finance in Beijing / Suzhou
-Ensure finance and accounting policies and procedures in China are followed and provide input with a view to improve financial controls
-Coordination and preparation of yearly budget
-Responsible as China lead and supervisory function of all accounting staff in China, mainly Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Fixed Assets and Payroll functions.
-Ensure Payroll and Employee Taxation matters are accurate by working closely with the APAC Payroll Manager
Handle ad-hoc assignments that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
-Qualified accountant with at least 10 to 15 years' of working experience, preferably in US-based multinational corporation
-Previous experience within the Big 4 accounting firm is advantageous
-At least 5 years of managerial experience
-Experience or understanding of operations of hi-tech or software company is preferred
-Prior experience in Finance Shared services and additional Greater China experience is
beneficiary
-Knowledge in Oracle Enterprise Business Suite and Hyperion is advantageous
-Native Chinese speaker with English proficiency is a must
-Working knowledge of US GAAP reporting and SOX compliance is advantageous
In addition, the right candidate should also have the following competencies:
-Action oriented and someone who is energetic towards things he/she sees as a challenge
-Strong business acumens understands the business and knowledgeable in current and possible future policies,
practices, trends, technology, and information affecting business and organization
-Ability to deal with ambiguity and deal with changes in the business
-Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with the business and other cross functional teams
-Managerial courage and comfortable to provide current, direct, complete, and "actionable" positive and
corrective feedback to others
-Good problem solving skills with rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
